UPCYCLED COCO / POLY STRETCH

This garment is made from a blend of upcycled coconuts, plastic bottles and polyester. Upcycling is the process of transforming unusable products into new garments. This allows us to produce high performance garments with faster drying times and UV protection, while reducing the amount of coconut shell waste and plastic bottles in landfills.

COCOTEX

Thanks to a process called 'Cocotex', the overlooked 'waste' is transformed into an activated carbon fabric. The properties of this fabric are everything you could want in a swimsuit: it stretches, it breathes, it fights odours and it lasts.

REPREVE

Repreve fibre contains recycled materials - including plastic bottles.  It's what it says on the inside... that's what makes it recycled. With Repreve, you can be sure you're creating a reprieve for the planet.

HIGH IQ REPREVE

In the past, water repellent fabrics have been treated with chemicals known as PFCs and fluorocarbons to prevent surface saturation of the fabrics. The problem is that these chemicals are released from the fabrics over time and have been shown to harm the living organisms they come into contact with and affect reproductive and endocrine systems. Vissla has decided to switch to a 100% PFC and fluorocarbon free DWR water repellent coating for our boardshorts.
