GATH

The size chart is for general guidance only, as individual head shapes may vary. Please note that the measurements should be taken directly around the head, in the centre of the forehead and over the ears.

SIMBA

The Sentinel 1 helmet is available in three sizes:

S: 52 - 54 cm
M: 55 - 57 cm
L: 58 - 62 cm
To ensure that the SIMBA helmet fits like a baseball cap, it is important to fit the helmet well to your head. If your measurements reach the maximum for the SMALL or MEDIUM size (54 cm or 57 cm), it is recommended that you choose the next size up.

To measure the circumference of your head, it is best to use a cloth tape. The ideal measuring point is about 1/2 inch above the ear. If you are between two sizes or wearing a hoodie, it is recommended to choose the next size up.

If your helmet has pressure points, there are various ways to respond:

Moving the Halofit™ pads: If the pressure point is at the front of the helmet, you can try placing the soft Halofit™ pads in the front Halofit™ pad channel. This padding can help relieve pressure on the forehead.

Helmet customisation: The SIMBA helmet has the unique ability to adapt to your head. Slight pressure points can often resolve themselves after several surf sessions as the foam moulds to your head.

It is important to ensure that the helmet fits properly and sits comfortably. If the pressure points persist or cause severe discomfort, this could indicate that the helmet may not be the right size for your head. In this case, it is recommended that you check the fit and try a different size helmet if necessary.

All our helmets offer the following outstanding features:

  1. Inner lining: Impact-resistant, non-water-absorbing foam.
  2. Headband: 10 mm thick, multiple impact-resistant, non-water-absorbing foam.
  3. Fittings: Customised screws and rivets made from strong, non-corrosive and salt water resistant materials.
  4. Shell: Durable, UV-stable, high-impact plastic.
  5. Restraint system: Consists of non-stretch, standardised webbing. It has standardised quick-release buckles for a secure fit and is equipped with nylon-coated, non-water-absorbing foam for additional comfort.

Only the Gath NEO helmet deviates from this standard and has additional comfort strips made of multi-impact resistant, non-water-absorbing foam.

The Gath visors and visors are characterised by the following features:

  • Visors: High-quality, UV-stable, shatterproof plastic.
  • Shields: UV-stable, shatterproof, flexible and durable plastic.

It is important to wear the helmet for a few minutes to ensure that it fits properly. The helmet should be comfortable when put on and should not move forwards or backwards. If the helmet is too loose, you can use the Halofit™ pads to adjust the fit.

Two sets of pads are supplied - blue 7mm and green 9mm. It is recommended to start with the blue pads (7mm) first. Insert the pads first without removing the paper backing to adjust the fit. You can then remove the paper backing and press the pads into place.
