Description

Buy the EGG NOT from RUSTY - your quad single fin surfboard.

The Egg Not from RUSTY is basically a squash tail version of our mid-length board, the eGG. In view of the increasing popularity of mid-length boards, it was only natural for us to offer a squash tail version as a quad or single fin. The squash tail offers a little more surface area, extends the rail line and gives the board a more manoeuvrable feel compared to a roundtail.

The Egg Not is a versatile board that looks great in your quiver. In average waves, it allows you to catch the wave well and glide through the sections, but still remains agile enough to make turns effortlessly. Even in slightly bigger surf it performs impressively. The board has a moderate rocker in the front section, which encourages paddling speed, facilitates wave catching and provides an overall smooth glide. The curve is slightly above average, which helps to tighten the arcs of your turns without losing speed.

The thickness of the board is slightly thinner for its size, which makes it easier to dive into the waves and also provides more control in bigger surf. The fin setup is up to you. For a sportier feel, we recommend a 4-fin quad setup. If you prefer a more relaxed or traditional feel, a 2 plus 1 setup is a good choice.

The Egg Not at Sano - Rusty Surfboards

ACT SURFBOARD TECHNOLOGY

Rusty's ACT construction typically offers strength, lightweight and value for money - three crucial factors that are often seen as a compromise. The Rusty ACT shortboard features three layers of fibre on the deck and a 6oz rail tape in the tail. On the bottom is a 6oz + 4oz lay-up, complemented by UD carbon strips on the top and bottom. Interestingly, despite this structure, the weight remains comparable to a lightly glazed PU board.

However, the standout feature is the impressive responsiveness of these boards. The feeling when surfing with these boards is unique as they are extremely responsive. The unrestricted flex and low weight ensure that all the energy you transfer through your foot movements is directly translated into the turn without the "dampening" effect of the resin.

TEC - TORQ EPOXY COMPOSITE SURFBOARD TECHNOLOGY

Torq Epoxy Composite offers performance shapes in our modern epoxy lamination. These boards offer the best balance between lightness and durability. Our unique lamination process allows us to use a very strong 6oz and 4oz fibreglass layup in a 3-ply topsheet and 2-ply base (with a 4-ply rail overlap) with a high density EPS foam and still achieve a board weight comparable to a lighter fibreglass layup.

The result is a light but very stable board with good flexing characteristics and, as with all Torq boards, excellent value for money.

The TEC shortboards have 2 full layers of fibreglass over the deck and bottom. On the deck we also use a 6oz deck patch which provides a triple layer of protection against dents but does not affect the flex along the rail. The addition of a carbon filament stringer and UD carbon twin layers on the base makes these boards extra bouncy and responsive.
